About Rick Farrington, Realtor
I was born in Beaufort, South Carolina, where my dad was a Marine Corps Crew Chief on a search-and-rescue helicopter
He was later assigned to HMX, the Presidential Helicopter Squadron, and was Crew Chief on Marine One for President Lydon Johnson. Eventually, he was transferred to Cherry Point and moved the family to Carteret County around 1965. We had a mobile home near Bogue Inlet, which we used as a weekend fishing camp and beach retreat. We also had a house in Newport.
I worked in commercial fishing and construction, and then, after graduating from West Carteret High School in 1977, I went straight to work as a drywall hanger, finisher, and popcorn ceiling sprayer. My brother and I worked on numerous homes in Emerald Isle during the late 1970s and early 1980s.
Our Story
With my Contractor and Real Estate Licenses in hand, I embarked on a journey to build homes in this beautiful area. In 1993, I seized an opportunity, purchasing 5 phases from a bank that had repossessed them from the developer. This marked the beginning of our journey, as we went on to build 22 units – Ocean Reef on the ocean and the 48 Pier Pointe condominiums. We further expanded our portfolio with Sunset Harbor, a sound front development with 42 condominiums in Emerald Isle, and The Villages of Magens Bay in Cedar Point, along with multiple other residential homesites.
With my background in negotiations, construction, and real estate, I’m well-equipped to assist you in buying or selling property in Emerald Isle and the surrounding area.
